We would like to update you on the current situation at Independence Matters regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The safety of our customers and staff is our priority and we are working with Norfolk County Council and other partners to ensure that we are following the latest government guidance in this respect.
From 18th March, our Community Hub buildings ceased all services for people with learning disabilities, older people, people with dementia and people with physical disabilities.
From 23rd March, our Personal Assistant Services ceased due to the increased need for social distancing and avoidance of any shared travel or use of public transport.
Our services will now be focused on supporting our 24/7 critical services – that is our Supported Living Schemes and Respite Lodges, as well as our Community Hub and PAS customers who are most at risk. We are working with individual services to assess which individuals are considered most vulnerable and will be using our staff resource to provide outreach support to those individuals.
We will be working through the logistics of this over the coming days and will be contacting individuals and family carers separately to outline the support we can offer you during this period. However, Coronavirus is a complex issue and in such a fast-moving situation we will need to take one day at a time, so please bear with us.
