Carers Week 2023 - raising awareness of those who provide unpaid care and support

5 - 12 June is Carers Week.

A carer is someone who provides unpaid care and support to a family member or friend (who has a disability, illness, mental health condition, addiction, or who needs extra help as they grow older). It isn’t someone who volunteers or is employed to provide support.

At Independence Matters we recognise the challenges that carers face and their on-going contribution to society.

We provide support to carers and signpost them to information and resources they need to assist with their unpaid caring role.
