Jason visits Hillside Animal Sanctuary and Shire Horse Centre
Hi everyone, Jason here with another blog for you.
Last week, my supporter and I started the day by doing some housework before deciding to go to the Hillside Animal Sanctuary and Shire Horse Centre in West Runton. We didn’t have to pay the usual entrance fee due to the covid restrictions but they were asking people to make a donation instead.
There were many, many animals there, some with very sad rescue stories but with a happy ending as they are now enjoying life at Hillside! We saw everything from chickens, rabbits, alpacas, goats, donkeys, parrots, finches, chinchillas, Highland cattle, donkeys and of course horses.
There is a very nice cafe where you can buy food and drink but at the moment, due to covid, the choice is very limited. There is also a bric-a-brac barn full of stuff to buy, all the money goes to the upkeep of the sanctuary and they really do need every penny they can get. There is also a very nice gift shop and I treated myself to a Hillside tee-shirt. I really enjoyed my visit and managed to stroke most of the Shire horses as they popped their heads out of the stable doors. I will definitely be going again.
I hope you are all enjoying the weather which is a bit changeable at the moment, and I hope you all enjoy looking at the pictures I took.
Keep safe and best wishes.
From Jason
